Building Bandwidth

In today’s job market, digital literacy and technology skills are more critical than ever. But not every young person has the tech savviness that employers demand—especially youth who are facing other barriers to employment. The Building Bandwidth program is dedicated to preparing youth 30 and under who are experiencing disability or mental health challenges to enter the workplace with the digital skills they need to succeed.

Building Bandwidth can provide a wide range of supports to help you succeed in the digital workplace. With the involvement of the program facilitator, our team will create a personalized and flexible program for you that specifically addresses your unique needs and challenges. Typically, program support could include assistance such as:

Program eligibility

Building Bandwidth is designed to help Nova Scotians aged 15 to 30 who are experiencing disability and/or mental health challenges. Participants are typically unemployed, under-employed, or seeking a career change. TEAM Work cooperative has extensive experience working with equity-deserving groups, including individuals experiencing disability.

Many Career Options

Building Bandwidth can prepare you to work in a wide range of careers that use digital tools. Some of these careers are higher-skill positions, such as software engineer, UX designer, web developer, network administrator, systems analyst, and programmer. But many career opportunities are more accessible, such as data entry clerk, social media assistant, help desk analyst, junior systems admin, junior database developer, and customer service representative.
